Manitoba’s chief provincial public health officer Dr. Brent Roussin and Lanette Siragusa, chief nursing officer for Manitoba Shared Health held the daily coronavirus briefing on Friday.
Dr. Roussin announced 6 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases to 230.
He also announced a new death due to COVID-19 for a man in his 70s with underlying health conditions, bringing the total number of deaths in the province to four.
Dr. Roussin said that 962 COVID-19 tests have been done on Thursday, and 16,220 total tests have now been completed province-wide.
Manitoba has opened a site offering a place for people experiencing homelessness to self-isolate in Winnipeg.
The site has 39 units for those who have tested positive or are suspected to have the virus.
